Kissing Factoids

Good question.  More than 300 women completed our online survey about kissing.  Kissing is important to women and they want that connection if they’re interested in a guy.  Here’s what they said in response to the question “Do you think more men CARE what women want when they are kissing?”

•  Well, I think they care but I think the first time they kiss they are kissing for their own desires and not the woman’s.
•  Not when you’re initially dating.  I think as the relationship [grows] depends [sic] he’ll care more about pleasing you.
•  Whether they realize it or not, I think they react to what women enjoy and care that they show enjoyment.
•  Most men want to make the woman feel good.
•  Who doesn’t want to be considered a great kisser?
•  I think a lot of guys think they have some good technique but no one ever told them they are bad kissers.

Here’s an interesting statistic from a study conducted during the 1980’s.

Men who kiss their wives (or significant other) before leaving for work:

• live longer
• get into fewer car accidents
• and have a higher income than married men who don’t!

So, you’ve got some reasons on several different levels to kiss your woman more frequently. 

And another note:  if you increase the kissing, you’ll get more sex.  Duh!

Since 75% of women in our survey think men don’t know what women want in a kiss, and please – DON’T ASK – what’s a guy to do?   It goes back to communication and reading body language.   If you think things are going well and you want to try for a kiss, go slowly and softly at first.  If she’s all about it, then bingo – go for it.   But follow her lead.   She is the one who will either accept your kisses and ask for more if she likes them – or slam the door in your face.   Guess who’s in control?

Unfortunately, men, that’s the way things shake out.   It’s not a matter of power or even control, but it is how the world works.  You can’t force a woman to kiss the way you want her to kiss.  You can follow her lead, and if you care enough about her, then introduce whatever style it is that floats your boat!   It’s all how you approach the subject – and her. 

Remember this:  Women Do Love Kissing.  So, provided you’re not suggesting something that would really turn her off, and everyone has different likes and dislikes, she may be amenable to your idea.

Do you think most men KNOW what women want in a kiss?

Survey Factoid:  Eighty percent of women say they enjoy a full contact kiss where tongues and lips are in contact with each other.  What does this mean?  Well, it means you’re not focusing on just the lips or just the tongue – you are mixing things up.  We have very high amounts of nerve endings on our lips, so use them.  This will titillate your partner and make her want more, so don’t forget the lips.  But introducing the tongue into the kiss is appropriate, if you don’t just thrust in and out and forget about her lips.  It’s said that variety is the spice of life – and in kissing that is the case.

What’s one of the most important tips for good French Kissing? According to our survey it’s having fresh breath. You’re going to be very up close and personal and fresh breath and a clean mouth, tongue and teeth are imperative. There’s nothing worse than kissing someone with bad breath, causing an otherwise pleasurable experience to turn sour. If you’re going to be kissing your date or significant other – do her and yourself a favor – pay attention to your oral hygiene.

Our survey showed that only 11% of women would continue kissing a man with bad breath. A large portion of respondents said they would continue the kiss but try to avoid any further kissing. One of the first questions we asked women in our survey was how important kissing is to them – especially when they’re in a relationship.  If there was ever any doubt how much women love kissing – the responses put that question to rest. 

• 98% of women say that kissing in a relationship is important or very important. Women like kissing – in and out of bed. It makes them feel closer to their partner. One woman stated, “kissing is a way of showing affection but also opens the door to more intimate acts.” So – if you want sex – kissing is the way there. And basically, if you’re not kissing her she probably won’t be hanging in there for long. Our results overwhelmingly support that women want kissing and lots of it.

Since a kiss may be a key factor in a woman’s decision on whether to continue in a relationship, remember this and keep the kisses coming. Not just a quick peck hello or good-bye – but serious, one on one time kissing where you are looking into her eyes and making a real connection.

This tip and the statistics behind it will serve you well.  Over 300 women responded to the question of what sort of “first kiss” they wanted.

• 52% of women say they want a soft, sensual kiss with no tongue when on a first date.  What does this say about women?  Well, that they want to take things slowly, get to know you and feel more comfortable with you before going for a more passionate kiss with tongue.  Aggressive kissing on a first date, according to our survey, will get you nowhere fast, except maybe a drive home alone!

Read her body language.  If you are on a first date with a woman, you must read her body language if you have any thoughts of kissing her.  Unless you want to just go for it and forget any chance of ever seeing her again.  Is she looking you in the eyes?  Is she smiling at you and possibly giving you an occasional touch on the arm or leg (if you’re sitting across from each other)?  These are indications that she is having fun and is “into” you – and that she will probably be receptive to a kiss.
